- Where will we be serving?
We will be partnering with organizations, schools, churches, park and rec departments primarily in Lake County to serve those in great need. The list of partnering organizations has yet to be solidly determined, but there is plenty of need out there. We will have more than enough work to do!
- How will this benefit my students?
Our prayer is that each student will see that they can make a Kingdom difference locally. We want students to see serving as part of God’s redemptive plan for this world, that God uses our hands and feet to open doors to hearts and souls. We want students to see that the body of Christ is larger than their church or youth group. We want to use this event not as an end in itself, but as a launching pad for the future. We want students to bond with each other in the midst of mission, and to let their entire week be framed by the Word of God, prayer, worship, and living out the gospel.
- But I’m already doing a mission trip this summer…
Many youth groups will be doing more than just this event this summer. This is ok, and in fact part of the plan. We have kept the cost as low as possible so that students can feasibly participate in Revolution as well as be a part of another conference or mission trip. Also, we have kept Revolution to the front of the Summer so that there can be sufficient time between Revolution and another event.
- I want to volunteer…
Great! If you are an adult seeking to help Revolution 2009 be the best it can be, please contact us!
- Is Revolution 2009 open to out-going eighth graders?
Yes! So long as the student is of high school age, it is up to each group leader to select those students who will participate in Revolution 2009.
- Can a student stay home at night?
Unfortunately, no. Here’s why: Once a student has arrived, we want them to get the most out of the event. Some of the best conversations happen late into the night! Moreover, having students come and go daily could pose a safety hazard in not having everyone accounted for. Exceptions for special circumstances will be gladly considered.
- Can a student participate for only part of the week?
This can be workable. Please contact us to discuss your special circumstances.
